Title: xpfm to control outside light post?
Post by: nabril15 on January 22, 2012, 09:57:04 PM
hello
I would like to control an outside light post that has 3 arms with a bulb each. An xps3 box will not fit in my switch box, and I obviously dont want to buy 3 socket rockets. Can I use an XPFM somewhere in the post to control the 3 lights? I am assuming that inside the post is a pair of wires that eventually branches out to the 3 arms. I can place the xpfm before the that 3way split, right?

thanks

I use a XPS3 which is also referred  to as a PRO Wall Switch Appliance Module will fit in a standard light switch box. Single or double.  I use one to control a PRS11 Spotlight.

If you can fit the XPFM into the lights junction box and the lights are all wired together {as you and I expect}. It should work.
The dimensions of the XPFM are on its installation sheet. Kind of looks like a appliance modules case. With no outlet on the bottom or input pins on the back.
