Title: Problem with normal remote not working through infrared receiver button

Hi - when I place the infrared receiver little button over the IR on my directv hd dvr, my regular remote downstairs won't work. It's like it's blocking my regular remote from working. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! Laura

Can you provide more information on exactly what you have?
I believe you are using an NStinct Remote with a RE549 PowerMid receiver. The PowerMid receivers IR emitter is being placed over the Directv's IR receiver window.
The NStinct then sends its RF command to the RE549 and it emits a IR signal to the Directv.

The Directv Remote is not in line sight to the Directv receiver. So it maybe using an RF signal.
