Title: Airpad 7p Ics stuck at android boot screen!
Post by: ghostj61 on March 07, 2012, 08:47:48 AM
OK now how do I go about fixing this. I turned the Airpad off and everything had been working as it should. 5 Min's later I turned it back on to find that it won't boot. Gets to the android screen and that's it. I can't perform a factory reset as I can't get to the OS to do so. after an hour I tried the physical reset but that doesn't do anything but try to reboot it, where it gets suck at the same android screen! And is only 17 days old. no apps installed other than a couple from amazon. Please Help!

A reload of the OS will fix your problem - I am hoping to have this available by tomorrow. Instructions will be posted on the forums.

Come on!   "I am Hoping" isn't the same as "I promise".
Cut X10 Repair Depot some slack!
Good x10 support on this forum is hard to come bye.

I realized that, which is why i had posted humorous disappointment, not a raving, lunatic slam. Sorry if it did not come across that way.
I guess the phrase " we are not amused" and what it connotates has been forgotten.
Thanks for your response, I will hopefully do better next time, but no promises.  :)

No problem, I was not offended at all.

The delay was cause by some communication issues between us and the factory. They final got the job done, and I have a copy of the new OS in my hands now. As soon as it is uploaded to our server it will be available - which should be later today.

The ICS update for the XL is being worked on now, but the latest copy that I received was far from usable. I will try to get an ETA next week.

To: X10 Repair Dept.
Will there be a loss of data or apps?
I'm anxious to try the update, but not sure and am waiting for some postive replies!

Thanks for the update post! #:)

I had the same problem and reloading ICS fixed it; thanks a million!  Another thing I noticed as I was reloading pics from the desktop to the 7p was that as soon as I plugged in the usb cable it started charging.  I thought it wouldn't do that.  I've spent hours trying to find a spare charger that would do 1500mA @5v with an A tip, and now I find that it will charge off the usb cable.
Its not frying the battery is it?  It doesn't feel particularly hot or anything.  I also found an old "Adaptaplug" from Radio Shack for the car.  Will that work?

Thanks for all your help.

Bill

Bill,

The Airpad 7p and Airpad XL will charge somewhat through the USB port. You won't hurt anything, but the battery will charge very slowly, and will never reach a full charge. I am not sure what an Adaptaplug is so I cannot help with that.

The Airpad1 and Aairpad X will not charge at all through the USB port.
