Title: PSC01 Mode 1 vs Mode 3 difference?
Post by: BoyntonStu on March 15, 2012, 11:38:43 AM
Powerflash Interface PSC01 question:

Output Mode 1: Engaged:  Senses Contact Closure or Voltage (up to 18V) present Disengaged:  Contacts Open or Zero Volts present.
Engaged:      Sends an X10 ALL LIGHTS ON Command, (Wall Switches and Lamp Modules will all turn-on)
& Sends an X10 ON Command at the "Set Address", i.e. - A1, (Appliance/Fixture Modules)
Disengaged:    Sends an X10 OFF command at the "Set Address", i.e. - A1, (Appliance/Fixture Modules)
& All other Wall Switches and Lamp Modules will remain ON

Output Mode 3:
Engaged:      Sends an X10 ON Command at the "Set Address", i.e. - A1
Disengaged:    Sends an X10 OFF Command at the "Set Address", i.e. - A1

What is the difference?

I do not intend to continue with the impossible to purchase PSC01.

However, for a test of my new "Cannon Switch" I want the PSC01 to send an On when the contacts are closed, and an OFF when the contacts are open.

I know how to do it, but the instructions seem difficult to comprehend.

What am I missing?

Apparently you missed the "ALL LIGHTS ON" command, unique to mode one.

Examples House Code B Unit Code 1.

Mode 1 engaged Will send an All Lights On and an On to the set address. Any light style module with the house code will turn On as will any module with the address set on the dials.   Disengaged sends an Off to the address it is set to. Any device not on that specific address stays On.
Engaged B All Lights On and B1 On. Disengaged B1 Off.

Mode 2 sends a cycle of All Lights On All Units Off when engaged. Lights modules will flash On and Off. Powerhorn sirens should trigger after a few cycles. Any appliance type module will go off with the first All Units Off and stay Off.
Engaged one second cycle of B All Lights On B All Units Off. Disengaged stops the cycle with the last command a All Lights On.

Mode 3 Sends the On when engaged and Off when disengaged to the address its on the dials.
Engaged B1 On. Disengaged B1 Off.
Sounds like you want mode 3 for your motion sensor triggers.
