Title: Wireless IP Network Camera XX39A from a Mac?
Post by: yanowitz on June 23, 2012, 10:26:14 AM
Hello:

I am new to X10 and wireless cameras and I don't have a Microsoft Operating System on my MacBook Pro.
But I didn't get any Mac software. Can I install this product from my Mac?
If so from where can I download and get installation instructions?

    Indoor Wireless IP Network Camera
       Model XX39A

MacBook Pro Mac OS X   Version 10.7.4

Thanks in advance

I suspect you are out of luck.  The software for the XX39A is for Windows only.

There are other Mac users here and they may have more data for you.

Thanks.  I was able to find my Camera's IP address:
   wireless camera     192.168.2.5
I am able to go that IP address from Safari or Firefox, but I can't log in.
As instructed, I enter admin for the username and leave the password blank.
And then I can selected either Quicktime, VLC or  Server Push and
and in all instances, it just returns to the login page, never letting me in.
Any ideas why?

Thanks in advance:

I did try connecting to it from a PC.
Same problem.  B:(
   1) SearchIPCam finds the device
   2) I run the IPCameraTool.  It tells me no device found.
   3) When I try to access it from a browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari)
It goes to for a fraction of a second to some Airsight screen but then immediately
       returns to the login prompt.
I have tried pressing the Reset Button on the back. Same thing.

What am I doing wrong or missing?

Thanks in advance

Still no luck.
Is there any way to test if:
a) the camera is defective
b) my network or firewall or the software is not allowing me to log in

Or could the problem be somewhere else?

I am having the same problems on both Mac and Windows Computers.

Is there any way to diagnose what the problem is?

Thanks in advance

Set the user name to admin  and the password to 'admin'  if that does not work try the password 'password'

good luck

help said password might be set to admin or password at factory
