Title: CM15A and x10 powerhouse security system both died same day....

well My CM15A and x10 powerhouse security system both died same day.... tried everything with the cm15a different computers same thing happens when i plug in the USB in to the computer says "usb device attached to this computer has malfunction and windows does not recognize it, the x10 powerhouse security system keeps forgetting the door/window and key-chain remotes.. and with the prices of everything so high It way be time to move on....

Did you do the "remove batteries" reset dance with the CM15A?

reset dance ? not sure. i have unplugged it took batteries out,  left out for 20 min plugged in then added batteries plugged in usb..

well now its completely unresponsive when plugged in..lol.. its dead damn

No-no! Most important step is to swing CM15A on USB cable above head while hopping on left foot. There was a chant to be recited also, but I forgot what it consists of. Without the chant it probably won't recover.

Seriously did you try uninstalling and reloading AHP, in case you have a corrupted file? (I guess it is unlikely you have corrupted files on two computers...sigh)
It is a little wierd that both failed CM15A and security failed at same time. Have you had any storms, or surges, etc. ?

just bought a second hand cm15a from ebay, until then i have a cm19a running... thanks guys, one question though what controller would you go to when cm15a is no longer available?
