Title: AHP Macros with CR12A Remote
Post by: EiEiOhh on July 22, 2013, 09:30:31 PM
I am able to operate 2 lamps (A4 & L1) individually via the AHP program and my CR12A remote
I have created a macro to turn these two lamps on with Trigger A7
I can trigger the macro from AHP but not my Remote.
The issue exists with all macros and the remote

I can see the macro flash when I click the remote as it does when I execute it in AHP
When executing the monitor from AHP, the activity monitor says Transmit
When using the remote, it says Recieve

Guessing here:
Are you using conditions in the macro? When you trigger the macro from AHP, conditions are ignored. When triggered by an external A7 ON command, conditions are observed. So any condition would have to be true for the macro to fire when the trigger is external.

Hi Dave, Thanks for your response
No Conditions set
Equipment:
Windows 7
CM15A
LM465 = L1 ,  Lamp 1 (no soft start)
LM465 = L2 ,  Lamp 2 (no soft start)
TM751 = L
CR12A = L
Additional equipment I own but are not currently in use:
TM751
RR501

I created a simple down and dirty macro for testing
Name= Test1
Trigger= L6 - On
Resides in= Living Room
L1 (lamp) On
L2 (lamp) On

Using AHP:
Transmit  L1
Transmit L Bright 100% (Lamp 1)
Transmit  L2
Transmit L Bright 100% (Lamp 2)

Using Remote:
Receive RF L6 On
Receive L6 (Test1)
Receive L6 (Test1)
Receive L On (Test1)

Are you using the latest AHP 3.318?
Do you have the House Code L disabled in the AHP Hardware Configuration Tab?
If not both the TM751 and the CM15A maybe sending L House Code commands on the power lines from the CR12A.
Are you sure you picked the LM465s from the Before SoftStart Menu and not the Lamp menu?
Bright 100% looks like a Soft Start Extended X10 command. Also you may want to pick issue a On instead of Bright 100% in the macro preferences tab.

This may be way off base as I have never used X10's software but the CR12A is the camera remote. Can this affect how the CM15A treats its codes?

Yes - 3.318
House code L disabled - Was set to Auto; A, B, C, D, H, L & P were all checked. I tried selecting "None" as well as "Specific" with everything checked and updated between tries with the same result
I deleted my existing lamp modules and added new ones from the Older Lamps(no SoftStart) menu and set them to On in the macro.
Same results. I can trigger from AHP but not the CR12A.

When triggering from AHP, I get a visual AND audible signal. But when I trigger from the CR12A, I only get a visual signal ("run macro" flashes)

It seems odd that the CR12A works for controlling the individual lamps but not the macros.

With Hardware configuration set to None, I created a new macro to turn on L2 with trigger L3
"SimpleTest" Macro settings are
Trigger = L3 On
Lamp L2= On

L2 On from the CRL2A
Receive RF  L2 On
Receive     L2 (Lamp 2)
Receive     L On (Lamp 2)
Result= Lamp turns on  (PASS)

Trigger Macro from AHP
Transmit    L Bright 100% (Lamp 2)
Result= Lamp turns on  (PASS)

Trigger from Cr12A L3 On
Receive RF   L3 On
Receive      L3 (SimpleTest)
Receive      L On (SimpleTest)
Result= Lamp stays off (FAIL)
Title: RESOLVED: AHP Macros with CR12A Remote

Ugh.. How dumb do I feel?

I ended up sending an email to X10 Support since I just bought the Interface last week

They suggested I set the Interface Configuration to Specific and only selecting the House Codes I use

The problem was I didn't "Download the Timers and Macros". I saw the selection under tools but took it to mean... download form the internet not upload to the Interface.

I cleared the interface, Downloaded the Timers an Macros and I'm in business.

Thank you all for your help
