Title: Rex-10 Barking Alarm Units are back?
Post by: Walt2 on April 07, 2014, 12:50:26 PM
X10 discontinued the Rex-10 Barking Dog alarm units, quite a long while ago.    After that, a used one would pop up every so often on eBay, but such had dwindled down to almost never.

Now, all in a sudden, over the past few months, Rex-10 units are suddenly showing up on eBay at a pretty constant rate.  Most are new units.  Plus, the special motion detector add-on for it, is showing up too.

Did someone discover some old, and long forgotten, X10 warehouse stock pile somewhere?

Maybe all the electrolytic caps are now drying and failing, so the ebay "for parts, repair only" dumping ground is becoming busy(?).

New but how old I wounder.
I bought some new {should be old production but never used} HD243 250 Volt 15 Amp modules.
They where model X10-HD243 Date Code 2J42 from BSR Ltd.  ::)
I have one of the Rex10 DM10A Motion Sensors in my collection of modules in a storage tub.

They could be from some stock buried, on a long forgotten pallet, in a warehouse, being sold off.

I know The X10Shop bought a production run of CM11As awhile back.
