Title: RF DS10a, RR501, CM11a?
Post by: kevin1 on September 10, 2014, 12:46:18 PM
I am trying out HomeGenie software on Win7 and would like to use a DS10a for my garage door to trigger events in Home Genie.  Does the RF signal make it through this path:

DS10a -> RF (only 3ft away for testing) -> RR501 -> CM11a -> Win7 -> HG

I have tested the RR501 with RoboDog and a motion sensor and that works at least.

I haven't been able to see any data in HomeGenie so I thought I would ask if this is even possible.

Thank you!

The RR501 will not see the door/window security signals to be able to forward them.
There is also no equivalent PLC signal for security sensors.
There is third party hardware (WGL X10 RF Whole House Transceiver  (http://www.homecontrols.com/WGL-X10-Transceiver-WG28005))that will see x10 security signals and convert them to a standard x10 PLC address
It would be cheaper to get a CM19A or CM15A as they will see the security signals but whether HomeGenie can detect them is another story.
