Title: Cannot turn off LED lights

I have been using Active Home system since 2010/ system works great / I control 29 devices throughout my home.
Just install LED lights around the outside trim of my home, controlled by an XPS3 switch.
First problem I had was noise from that line causing controlling issues with other devices, solved that by adding a
XPF 20amp noise filter on that line.
My new problem now, I am able to turn ON the LED lights, but I cannot turn them off??
Any recommendations on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Post by: Brian H on January 02, 2015, 02:15:12 PM: First where is the XPF Filter. Is it filtering the branch circuit feeding the XPS3 or on the load side of the XPS3?
If it is on the Line side. You are filtering all the X10 power line signals feeding the XPS3.

On but not Off is many times the load when On is making power line noise and stopping it from receiving the Off message on the power lines.
What type of LED lights are they?
Do they have a 120 volt to low voltage driver or are they 120 volt LED bulbs?

ThIs is a single dedicated 15amp circuit, the filter is on the line side.
The LED lights have 120 volt to a low voltage driver
Should I be adding another line filter on the load side?

If your controller and other X10 devices are scattered around the house on different branch circuits.
The X10 filter should be on the Load Side of the XPS3 not the Line side. Right now you are filtering or greatly reducing the X10 power line signals getting to the XPS3.

Finally got around to fix my control of LED Lights
Did as I was recommend Brian, installed a XPF on the load side of XPS3
All works perfectly

Installing the filter between the XPS3 switch output and the load (in this case the LED light fixture). Power from the switch passes throught the filter on way to load, which isolates the switch from the electrical noise generated by some LED's, CFL's, electronic power supplies, etc.

Some users have also used a Simply Automated ZNF10A-W wired in noise filter if the load is ten amps or less.

Not a neat a package as the XPF but also not as large.

Post by: JeffVolp on June 12, 2015, 09:00:58 AM: I managed to pick up a small batch of the discontinued Leviton 5A 6287 filter. That is small enough to squeeze behind switches inside a deep electrical box. Contact me if you need one.
