Title: Problem With Lifejacket on Win 10 Tablet
Post by: LAF on September 19, 2017, 06:35:35 PM
Got my Insignia Flex tablet and successfully installed AHP.  However, am running into a problem with Lifejacket.

The Stop x10nets step seems to work but clicking Change ID produces the following error message:

"VolumeID V2.01 - Set disk volume id
Copyright (C) 1997-1999 Mark Russinovich
Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com

Error reading drive.  The parameter is incorrect"

The tablet has Win 10, 32 bit and all upgrades were downloaded.  Lifejacket was run "as administrator" (as was necessary when I ran it successfully on my Win 7 desktop).  Lifejacket is loaded in the C: root directory (if that's important).

Can anyone please suggest a solution??

Changing the volume ID can be a bit of a pain on some devices.
Some have had success running the volumeid.exe on its own with out Lifejacket.
Others have had to change the ID in safe mode or use the command prompt
Very few have had to use another volume ID changing method.
Use google to find another volume ID changing tool I had to go threw several before I found one that worked with lifejacket. ;)

OK thanks, I may try that.  But for now I think I'ii just leave it as is because I'm just copying the .ahx file from my desktop to the tablet where, conveniently, the conditions programmed in on the desktop for that file still function on the tablet (they work but you cannot edit them).

Yep plugins still function you just can't make any or edit existing ones.
One other option for your tablet, change your win7 drive ID to the tables ID using the revert ID option in lifejacket.
Then you could just copy the x10prod.sys file to the tablet (with AHP and x10 nets not running)from the win7 PC. ;)
