Title: Timer Dawn / Dusk question
Post by: martin on January 19, 2018, 10:14:39 AM
My WM100 is on order and waiting for it’s arrival! :P
Question, can I set a timer to turn on a device at dusk but off at 1:00 am for example?

The Dusk/Dawn settings are a separate option from the timers.
However I have a lamp setup exactly how you have questioned. ;)
Actually it comes on 30 mins after dusk and off at 9:30.

Can you have different modules react at different offsets from dusk?  For example, I do 30 minutes after dusk for my outdoor lights, but the indoor lights I want on a little sooner.

Also, can you do dusk/dawn conditional timers (like turn light on at 7:00am if it's before dawn)?

I do both of those with AHP, but it would be nice to migrate to a more modern platform (my CM15A is about 13 years old and I don't expect it to last forever).  From what I have read though, there are still a few things I will need to do with AHP (for now at least).

All timer functions are tied to each individual device, So yes you can do different dusk on offset times for your indoor verses out door lights.

There are no conditionals yet for the scenes.
The scenes option is just slightly better then some other hubs software I've seen.
I'm hopeful this gets expanded on

I have 2 timers set to dusk offset and dawn offset. After 24 hours, all is working perfectly.

Greetings all.

Long time x10 user here, anxiously awaiting my WM100 to arrive this Friday. I've been reading all of the posts on this forum trying to hit the ground running.

My question:   I have timers in Smarthome for bedside dimmable lamp modules.  On at sunset, then delay for a minute and dim to 40% bright.  Makes for a nice way to get ready for sleep. For waking, my bedside lamp comes on, delays 5 seconds then dims to 30%.  Lamp on wakes me and then dim 30% allows me to open my eyes without burning my retinas.

Will I be able to recreate this simply in the WM100?

Thanks,
Jim

currently no! :(
You can setup scenes with delays but currently you have to manually start them.
We're all waiting to see what if any new adds come with an app and or firmware update. ::) :'

Thanks for the reply, and for confirming my suspicions.

That's pretty much what I was able to glean from all the FAQ/Tips posts and reading the user manual.

-:)  It just occurred to me that I believe I can set the lamps modules to come on at a certain dim level and ramp rate, so then all I would need is the sunset and wake-time timers for device on.

Simplicity!
