Title: Memory limitation?
Post by: prlaba on February 20, 2018, 08:18:32 AM
I’m just learning about the new WiFi module and am thrilled to see X-10 get a good end-of-life boost it deserves.  And thrilled to think that I can finally retire my old CM-11A and AHS software!

My thrill was a bit tempered when I learned that the hardware’s memory limits you to a max 32 devices.  I think I’m close to that, but should be ok until the holidays when I add a bunch more devices.  I assume the 32 devices can be any mix of house/unit codes?

Given how cheap and dense flash is these days, I’m curious as to why the device limit isn’t higher.  Any plans to offer a upgraded unit that supports more devices?

Much of the limitations aren't due to hardware but the app developer.
You can use any of the 256 addresses in the app and the WM100 will see all those.
The WM100 has far more memory then the CM11 or CM15 so it isn't being utilized to its maximum (yet)
