Title: What SBC are you or have you used with X10
Post by: Tuicemen on September 02, 2018, 04:37:18 PM
I'm surprised by the number of Single Board Computers (SBC) available.
Each brand seems to have a number of variations some are basic while others are very powerful boards (more so then the Pi 3B+)
I looked at a few while planing my next cm15 mod jus to see what would fit inside the cm15 like the Zero W does.
I settled on an ODROID C0 but It made me wonder just  what SBC have others have used for X10?
And how have they performed?
I'm still working on my ODROID/cm15 mod but do have the OS and Domoticz loaded. I've not played with x10 as yet as my mod  plans are to have the cm15 hard wired to the ODROID thus eliminating some external wires.

Rock64 running full desktop version of Ubuntu Xenial. Same profile as the Raspberry Pi but 4gb RAM and 1.5ghz processor. X10 and all the previously discussed home automation software work fine on it. Boots from SD card or eMMC. Even has USB3.00 and the X10 controller works fine plugged into it.

The market is awash with SBCs. Virtually disposable at this stage.

rofl so true!
I had thought I knew all the possible SBC options out there until I looked at software options for my ODROID C0.
(I went with a full desktop version of Ubuntu Xenial as well)
Some of these boards are not cheap though, which makes me wonder ::) ??? How much are those guys making on a board?

As the profile and spec of these SBC's are similar to those of mobile phones makes you wonder how much the mobile phone guys are making too. A lot more it has to be said.
