Title: 2.4GHz Anywhere Camera, XX16A-C and iPhone
Post by: Blue993 on June 02, 2019, 08:24:40 PM
Digging in my storage unit I found a box of X10 stuff:

- 3 Anywhere Cameras, XX16A-C
- 1 Video to USB adapter, VA11A-C
- 1 Camera Scanning Remote, CR12A-C
- 1 PalmPad Remort, HR12A-C
- 1 HawkEye Motion Detector, MS13A-C
- 1 EagleEye Motion Deterctor, MS14A-C
- 1 Mini-Transceiver, TM751-C
- 1 Whole House VCR Controller, UX21A-C

Question is, can I use one of the cameras at my front door with one of the motion detectors like a doorbell camera?
Meaning, is there any software for iOS that will send me motion notifications to my iPhone and allow me to view the cam live on my phone?

Any help greatly appreciated!

(the short answer) No. Or maybe I should say not that I am aware of.

Meaning, is there any software for iOS that will send me motion notifications to my iPhone and allow me to view the cam live on my phone?

There are other devices.... (like a digital video recorder) that would allow you to use integrate your X10 camera.... along with other much better, IR, and higher resolution cameras (often sold with the DVR's). I know this... because I've done it. I had a hidden X10 cam (behind glass... which excluded IR camera use). But realistically.... you'll likely spend much more for much less technology trying to use the old out-of-date left-overs.

But.... those X10 addressable low voltage power supplies may come in handy someday.......

Using old out dated cameras will as Dave stated will likely cost you more in the long run an not get you the features you'll find you'd like.

However there are some HA softwares which have been arround for sometime which have the ability to do what your currently looking for.
Not being a iOS guy I'm unsure which would work with iOS. You may need a old PC running XP or Linux or a RPi with Linux inorder to use the VA11A.
These older long time HA softwares may also require you to do a bit of script writing or add old plugins.
