I've ordered the required parts to do three of these projects.
My buttons have arrived but I'm still waiting on the resistors.
from initial mesurements the buttons will fit in my cm15/zeroW case in the front top right corner and should work for both the old & new style CM15 boards.

It took a bit of fiddling but I Found a place for this on my P3B+ case.
It fits nicely above the SD card slot.
Light comes on when Pi is running and goes out once powered down. I love it! :)%

I guess I'm old school. I simply drilled a hole in the top of the case so I could see the indicator lights on the board. I like to know what it's doing. Maybe I'm just cheap, but I already had a drill bit and didn't think of buying a button for $10. It does look like a fancy button though!

The buttons were cheep ($5) and I could have went with a unlighted one for much less.
The LED lights on the Raspi board stay on if power is going to the board as does the LED on my USB stick. That doesn't indicated that the pi its self is running.
This button is like typing "sudo poweroff" or "sudo shutdown now" You still have to pull the power cord if you want totally no power to the board. The bonus is the wake up, no need to pull power cord then plug it back in.
Logging into the pi via puTTy then typing "sudo poweroff" seemed like more work then was needed, this even eliminates typing a "sudo reboot". ;)
I noticed the buttons have a small rubber ring (for water seal?) that I'll remove when I add to my CM15A cases. Adding this to my 3B+ case was just a trial run. >!

I completed this project on my CM15 with a ZeroW inside today. http://forums.x10.com/index.php?topic=30322.msg186594#msg186594
Interestingly even though the same pins were used for both(3b+ & ZeroW) the code for the LED light had to be in different places to light up.
The line @reboot raspi-gpio set 15 op dh added to a crontab worked in the Pi 3B+ , however I had to add
gpio=15=op,dh to the /boot/config.txt in the ZeroW instead to get the LED to come on ::) :'

Thinking this over, I should have went with a different color LED then red. :-[
If I was to use a LED light as a warning light I'd want red thus the button light would blend in from a distance.
Blue may work though ::) :'
Other then that I'm very please with this and its operation. :)%
