Hey you tinkerers,
FYE (For Your Enjoyment) Electronic Goldmine is a great surplus house. Cool stuff cheap. Great assortment of switches, LEDs, power adapters, etc. Ebay is probably lower price and free shipping, but EG is fun to just "stroll through the catalog".
I really miss those days when you got a catalog in the mail and that night you head to bed with a magic marker for a little night time "wish" reading.

I haven't looked at that store front before. I've ordered from AllElectronics.com and MCM (now Newark) a few times. I'll check them out in the future though!

Thank you for jogging my memory.
I had forgotten Electronic Goldmine as a source of goodies. ;D

Also MPJA.com which is very similar to Electronic Goldmine. Interestingly, whenever I receive an email flyer from one I also receive one from the other within 1 minute so they may have some affiliation.
I do miss the paper catalogs but times have changed. When I was a kid I'd pore over the Allied, Lafayette, Burstein-Appleby, McGee Electronics, Olson, Heathkit and, of course, Radio Shack catalogs for hours.

I haven't though of Burstein-Applebee in decades. I probably still have some of their grab bag junk lurking in a box somewhere. Anybody need octal tube sockets?
