Title: MS13A?
Post by: scottmc on February 21, 2022, 02:50:27 PM
I have a pair of old MS13A motion detectors.  Can I use them to trigger anything, like the SC1200 alarm system, through an RR501 or PAT01/2/3?  Thanks.

MS13A is a standard X10 motion sensor.
It should trigger standard X10 modules. Through a transceiver or the transceiver function in the SC1200.
It is not a security sensor so you can't trigger a security alert.

Purely using the security panel the answer is no. It can be done via Homegenie though. Once the MS13 is triggered you can in Homegenie instruct it to issue an alarm condition to the SC1200 which in turn will activate your SC1200 alarm. That’s how you can integrate non x10 security sensors into your X10 security system.

Thank you, both.

I'll have to investigate Homegenie to see how it works and how I could implement.  It looks quite interesting, based on a very quick scan of the website.  I will have to wait for a later time right now.

Thanks, again.

There is a whole section here on both the X10PiHUB and Home Genie.
