Title: XCams2 nostalgia
Post by: Mic_ on December 23, 2022, 03:51:43 PM
Does anyone still use the Xcam2's, XC10a cams, etc anymore? I know, they are from the early, by gone X10 days. I also know, we have much better security cameras, these days (I own, and use several of them) and there is little need for this discussion; however, I am doing it for nostalgia purposes

Way back in the day, before any of the advances (In security cameras; back to the Radio Shack version of the Xcams2) In the security cameras arena, I used the Xcams. I remembered when I traveled Europe for work, I could look back home and see and talk to the family, with these cameras. In fact, still have a few of these cameras, standing proud, inside my house.

Thanks folks, for allowing me this time, and space, to wax on...There will come a day when I too will close the book on the Xcam2 chapter.

I still have several of these arround but since I moved my x10 setup to a pi they are no longer in service.
I was just thinking about putting  a couple back into service the other day :'
I actually buried one of the X10 cam anywhere  wired cams into the logs of retirment loghome I built and ran it into a VCR as a simple security monitoring setup however the VCR has long bit the dust. It looks like a knot in the wood.
The x10 came were small and very inexpensive which allowed for some really creative concealment ideas.

Absolutely! I'm glad there are still a few of us who still remember the venerable cams.

I do remember them and had used them for awhile.
I may still have one in a storage box.

I figured I would get a shout, on this, from a few of the veterans here. Thanks Gents
