Try asking in the X10 Forums they are better
suited for the older Serial Port Controller
and Active Home. Than the AHP forums.
OK now Active Home and the Serial port cm11a
do not like to be run on a computer with XP.
There are some hints on installng it. I will
see if I can find that information. Many
months ago someone posted a sort of fix for
it; but it may have rolled off by now.

sorry if its the wrong forum, this site is
fairly hard to navigte. x10 support sent me
an email about moving around some .nt stuff
and i did all that and no fix. i even
downloaded and actually got to install some
drivers but the AHSETUP>EXE still wont do
anything, same as when i click the 'install
software' from the disc. i really dont know
what else to do... id really like to get
this going again. thanks for your help!

You don't have to be sorry. Many AHP posts
end up in the X10 forums. You just may have
a better chance of someone with Active Home
seeing a message there. I am going to search
for the information. I do know that you had
to use the compatibility mode telling it to
act like 98 and turning off many advanced
features.

OK get into the X10 Forums area.
On any X10 page [not an AHP Page] pick
support then forums. Software Tab.
Near the bottom of the first page is a page
selector. If you are using the default
display. Pick page 17.

A trick to make Active Home work with WinXP.
Good luck with the fix. I had problems with
mine mostly comm port just shut down and
data between the cm11a and the computer
stopped.

ok i found the topic and follow
instructions, but still no go, i click
install software from the disc, install
activehome software, but again it clicks i
get my hourglass then nothing... same goes
for the update, nothing happens. do i need
to make sure everything is plugged in before
doing this?

If you have any virus software try disabling
it. Also try to stop any nonesential
software running in the background.
I naver tried indtalling it on a XP computer
with SP1 or SP2 installed. Mine was
installed before the SPs where added. I
don't know if that makes any difference.

how about hooking things up, what all do i
have to have hooked up before installing any
software or updates? ill try editting my
background programs...
