Title: Does changing house code on module reset it in any way?
Post by: pete a on November 15, 2005, 06:58:50 PM
I installed a handful of WS467 2 Switch
modules as my first stage of my house. All
but one, my garage worked. Fine must be too
far. So I start my second stage as my 3 way
Switches were delivered today. First one I
try works fine via the buttons. I power up
my PC and NO GO. So I switch the house code.
BOOM it works! Odd! So I put it back to what
everything else is on (F) Still works!! So I
try the garage on a different code. BOOM! it
works!!! So I put it back to F. NO GO!!
Hmmmm, back and forth a dozen times to diff
codes and still no go. But My other switch
is still fine.

Sounds like one of the dial switches maybe
intermitantly making a poor connection. Try
rotating both the house and unit code wheels
a few times and try it again. Also a side
note. The code M13 is the code for no wheels
connected, So if there is a wheel problem
setting M13 should work as a test.

It also could be some type of signal strength
or powerline noise problem and the changing
of the house code is a red herring.  Do you
have a phase coupler?

That could be also. Just the right noise to
make an addrsss look bad or garbaged.
