Title: gate switches

I have two gates into my back yard.  I
tried the eagle eye photocell to alert me
when the gate is open but it trips too
easily.  I would like to find a switch that
I could fasten to the gate to trip when it
is opened to turn on a light or to sound an
x10 doorbell alarm.  Any suggestions?

Check this site: http://www.idobartana.com/hakb/index.htm (http://www.idobartana.com/hakb/index.htm) for modification to the light/dark sensing circuit in the eagle eye to convert to a wired contact closure. You could use a security system magnetic window switch (radio shack, etc)for your gate switch.
