Title: myHouse and connectivity
Post by: justin on January 05, 2006, 11:52:08 AM
I am having difficulty understanding how
myHouse works.  I have been using a different
product and was considering a switch to
myHouse/ActiveHome Pro.  Basically what I
have right now is a local webserver which
talks to browsers within my house.  It looks
like MyHouse requires a connection through
the net and cannot be isolated within the
house, is this correct? If so, are there any
plans for a stand alone web server version so
we can host it ourselves?

Thanks

You are understanding how MyHouse works. We
do have plans for a standalone connection
method that doesn't use our servers for
remote communication but I don't have an
estimate for when that will be released yet.

Since Michael Cole, who was X10 Pro has left the company (he is back as MichaelC on these forums) do not expect the MyHouse server problem to ever be resolved, plus a lot of the programmers have left the company as well.
