Title: 3.177 working after removing Visual Studio.Net ???
Post by: rich on January 30, 2005, 09:53:40 AM
I wondered if the installation on this
machine was gumming up the works...and it
may have been. After removing all traces of
Vis Studio, things seem to work again.
Hmmm. This box is a speedy one (!) with Win
XP Pro.

Makes me wonder if there is something going
on between AHP & dot net...I've got all the
latest & greatest xp pro & dot net
upgrades...even with removal of the dev
environment.

My actual long term machine to run the
house is an older box (P3) running Win2K
Pro. That has (& will continue to have) VB6
dev enviornment on it...Wonder if VB6 will
affect this software...???

My lowest box (P3) is one with 98se...but I
don't intend to run this stuff on
that...that's for 98se testing and needs to
be reloaded on a regular basis...

X10 Pro?

Update...not only is it working, but smart
macros work, and I'm triggering stuff with
ms14/16 sensors...

wish there was a way to turn off the
sensors though...under certain
conditions...too much traffic when they
keep giving the same signal...maybe some
hardware hacks would do it...

I'll ask our developers about why this would
be. We use Visual Studio .NET for
development, so there shouldn't be any
incompatibilities, but maybe there's
something I don't know about.
