Title: ActiveHome Pro update v3.178 available
Post by: X10 Pro on January 31, 2005, 09:11:02 PM
Tonight's update corrects several bugs
introduced in 3.177:

- Fixed a problem that prevented AHP from
running on Win98/ME systems.

- Fixed problem with displaying update items
in the update notice window on Win98/ME.

- Fixed a problem that caused previously
selected geographic location to be lost. You
will need to select your city again, if you
haven't already.

- Corrected use of wrong default data for
Dusk/Dawn with no city selected.

- Fixed problem with Preferences selections
not saving correctly.

- Fixed Hardware Configuration not saving
manual selection of transceived House Codes.

- Fixed Macro Designer not refreshing
selector correctly when using Set/Clear Flags.

- Removed seconds display of interface time
from Hardware Configuration.

You can download the installer directly from
here:

http://software.x10.com/pub/applications/activehome/ahp_updt.exe

There's an outstanding problem with the way
that RF macro commands are being encoded. We
will fix that tomorrow.

as for ...

Fixed a problem that caused previously
selected geographic location to be lost.
You  will need to select your city again,
if you  haven't already.    - Corrected use
of wrong default data for  Dusk/Dawn with
no city selected.

... when I select the correct city - click
ok - go back into the dialog the city that
always shows up is 'Abbotsford B.C.' ...
sounds to me that the fix did not work

Running this update returns the following
error:  Could not communicate with the
network server; error 1.

Why can't you guys publish a patch that
doesn't have to "communicate back to the
server"?  This is as annoying as the
original installation - not everyone wants
to use a networked computer to run their
activehome pro.

I am stuck now with version 3.175 that
refuses to run an autoupdate and does not
run my setup (so far no version works!!!!)

HP: We are looking at that problem today.

corey: Use the link I provided to download
the update installer and run that. If AHP
doesn't want to run it automatically, doing
it manually should work.

GTL: That error comes up when you run the
installer without an Internet connection.
This method is fast and easy for most users,
and we don't currently have plans to deliver
updates in a single file.

Wow.  did my machine pick a bad time to let
the magic smoke out of its harddrive.  I
have been rebuilding it (win2k) with all
updates, got the link from X10 and when it
runs I get ActiveHome.exe has generated a
windows error.  I don't even have a chance
to register.  This started as a completely
fresh install.  Fortunatedly, I found my old
3.168 sip file and will try again this
evening with that.   I hope I will advance
to all the problems everyone else is having
very soon.
