Title: MultiView version 3.151
Post by: Lew on April 27, 2005, 10:38:20 PM
The Live Video caption is correct and
displaying the correct camera, but when it
stores a snotshot into the Snapshot area of
the GUI it is off by one window.

For example,

camera 1 goes into camera 2 spot
camera 2 goes into camera 3 spot
camera 3 goes into camera 4 spot
camera 4 goes into camera 1 spot

The last version did the correct snapshot
order.

As a side note: It would be nice to be able
to expand the number of windows on the GUI
up to at least 16 cameras. Each having their
own set-up tab like in the four camera
system you have now.

Lew, I experienced the same thing when I was
using MultiView (now using iWitness).  The
timing between cams affects the window
placement. If you add more time between
images they will be placed in the correct
window. Or, if you're like me and require
faster scanning, you could just ignore the
window placement. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Lew: It sounds like the timing is off in
switching cameras and saving images. I'll see
if we can take a look here.

There's not much chance of our expanding
MultiView to work with more than 4 cameras,
but I'll pass along the suggestion.

Thanks for your help.

How about making this open source code. It
would be fun to learn how to expand the
amount of cameras that it could use.

X10 Pro:

I have MultiView and 4 camera application
and Multiview has NEVER WORKED RELIABLY NOR
X10 RESONDED AT ALL, LET ALONE
SATISFACTORILY TO SAID REPORTED PROBLEMS IN
THE LAST 2 YEARS.

Tony: What doesn't work? We did release a new
version of MultiView right around when we
released ActiveHome Pro, and it fixed a major
problem with motion sensor activated camera
switching. Are you using that new version?

X10 Pro:  According to
http://www.x10.com/support/rev_mv.htm the
last release was 1/10/2003 that is over 2
years ago and that one was a disaster.
Options & capabilities that were there, were
gone, pictures upside down, it simply was a
blue screen special.  If you know of a later
one why isn't it at the above MV release
software history page?  I never received any
notification; even though I am registered
user and I have several software problem
reports that are in to X10 support now over
2 years and no response.

If there is a solution lay it on me, if not
I want a refund.

Thank You for the prompt response.
MultiView tech support was never like this.

Will give it my best "once over" and see how
she flies.

Regards,

Tony

It hit me again, XP prof. SP2.
I do not use MultiView very often since I
have the iWitness Plugin - even with the
known errors.
My MultiView vers. 3.151 is aborting
immediatly when I start the MV Program. This
happened already some time ago in Nov04, -
with the AHP S/W installed Oct04.
The only thing to recover was at that time,
to restore an older image with PQ-Driveimage.
De-/and Re-installing of MV does not help at
all -> neither in Nov04 or now.
The MultView program 3.151 is not useable !!!

Multiview opens to an error, thats as far as
we get.  after dismissing error screen pops
up but no pics.  I have called in for help
and emailed but no response to either.  This
program has a relational connection with
webview, hence webview doesn't work.  I set
up as a contractor, but can't get my own
system to work, how can I try and set others
up.  Sounds like money lost to both me and
x10 as well as reputation.  shouldn't take 3
weeks or more (none yet) to get a response.

I have the very same problem. Have tried
many times to get a reply from tech
support, but it appears to go on deaf
ears.  I finally gave up and uninstalled
the program using XP but that was a
disaster as well. I couldn't remove it
completely.  I again contacted tech support
to see if there was some magic way to
completly uninstall the sofeware using
their software. Again I was ignored and
resorted to restoring my Windows XP to an
earlier date. Seems to me that if we buy
their product, they should be more
responsive to our concerns.  Last year I
purchased one of their camera specials,
about $400.00 worth, except for the
software, but it is still in the box and
will remain there until I can at least get
the program to work.
