Title: Rats ate wiring...
Post by: Martin Salisbury on November 19, 2004, 06:29:45 PM
I've got a Ninja Pan and Tilt on both my
camera.  The one trained on the backyard
had the power cable eaten by rats.  I've
spliced the bad area out and reconnected
the two ends.  Red to Red - White to White
and then wrapped the copper wiring around
the two.  Still I get no power or movement
from the Pan and Tilt.  No Picture either.

Does X-10 offer parts such as wiring for
their products?  If not, does anyone know a
dealer or manufacturer who would have this
power cable from the Pan and Tilt?

Thanks....Marty

'Seems that it should have worked. Do you
have a multi-meter? Can you check to see if
you're getting power from the power adapter?
Perhaps when the rats chewed through the
wires, the shorted them out and damaged the
power supply. I haven't checked but it would
also seem that X-10 would sell those
supplies seperately. If you were to buy the
power supply for the Ninja, you'll be
straight.

Okay. I looked and couldn't find, so chatted
with X-10 and they sell the Ninja power
supply separately for $24.99. The part
number is XM14A-TEL
