Title: Camera for use in bird houses
Post by: ed on November 25, 2004, 08:43:36 AM
We love our back yard birds. Bird houses are
within 200' of main building. We would like
to place a small camera in a bird house to
watch the small birds develope. Any
suggestions on what equipment would work.

If you don't have a means of getting power
to the X10 in the birdhouse, then use thier
battery pack. You can save battery life by
turning the camera off when not in use.

ED, did you ever get your camera to work in
the birdhouse? If so, please give details.

You might want to put the camera on the
floor of the bird house as a liner.  Then
you can throw it away with the newspaper.

Just a note for anybody thinking of doing this, I tried
something very similar by putting the battery operated
camera in a tree and pointing it at a feeding dish. The
birds would not go anywhere near the tree while the
camera was on, they seam to be able to sense the radio
waves or something, if I left the camera but turned it off
they would feast in droves but if I turned on the camera
no birds would come at all.
