Title: Poor Customer Service - Legal Action Started [1 of 3]
Post by: us superior marketing on February 25, 2005, 04:16:42 PM
Our patience has run out with this
company. We spent almost $2,000 for
equipment and cannot get it to funtion
properly. We have tried to contact
customer service over 56 times and have not
received one response. I highly reccomend
that you do not walk but run away from this
company as it is a total rip off thus our
pending law suit.

Sincerely,

Jon Greene
President
US Superior Marketing Corp.

Good for you!!! This is the single worst
company I have ever dealt with for product
support and warranty issues.

Horror , horror , horror. Once you open
that quickly send FedEx box your nightmare
starts! The whole thing comes without a
proper manual and without CDs or software!
You call them and than it goes on and on
from there. You will be up till midnight
and the thing will not work. Beware of this
product folks!

Thank you all for taking the time to bring
these concerns to light. Each post in this
thread is very troubling and I would
appreciate the opportunity to speak with you
all individually to gain a better
understanding of the circumstances
surrounding each. The descriptions I’ve read
fall not only far outside the norm in our
Customer Support department, but in some
cases seem to fall outside even a realistic
possibility for what I know is a responsive
and effective Customer Support team here at
X10.com. Please contact me directly using
tomhoran@x10.com . I will see that these
issues are addresses and resolved
appropriately and immediately.

US Superior Marketing: You forgot to
qualify whether you are filing in small
claims court or are hoping for a class
action?

I for one agree with the sentiment
expressed here by US Superior Marketing's
Jon Greene. I had experienced the same
poor quality of product and support from
X10 when I bought over$1000 worth of their
defective or crippled products over 2 years
ago. I went through the run around with
them back then and now I visit these forums
two to three years after my own bad
experiences and see that they have not
changed one bit! They are still selling
the same old crippled software and hardware
with deceptive (false) advertising. I
offer as proof my floodcam security camera,
firecracker receivers (SErial and USB port
models) and their crippled
Multiview/Webview software packages. None
of these ever worked as advertised. They
promised me that they would work on it and
fix it (over two years ago), but never have
to this day. They still continue to sell
this product with their false claims.

yeah, mark, it reminds me of the 70's when
I was a kid and buying cheap computer
kits. It was glitchy, but had lots of
promise for the future. At least X-10 has
a message board. I guess the customers are
the customer support, and the Research and
Development team. I kind of love having to
modify things I buy. It is exciting! I do
think some of their adds are unethical, and
misleading, but I must admit they are very
cheap!!!

Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated too, but
when I went to check out their competitors,
I found they mentioned X10, sell X10
products, and are way more expensive than
the X10 package deals.

Long live affordable new tech!!!!

will i have to tell the complainers to stop
crying and take time out to try and solve
your own issues.
you can't find anything on the net for under
100.00 bucks these days.
stop bitchin.
if you want cd's and more manuals with your
products than your going to pay more for it.
has for the forums, just about every site
now a days has a separate help forum for
bumdasses. even like me. i have had issues
with them to but find it hard to believe
they will not fix or atleaast help you out
with your stuff.
my order just two weeks ago had a faulty usb
firecracker(doa) and no q's asked they sent
it out and now it works fine. now today's
order is short one camera. i called and the
other is on the way.
we aren't perfect if so than maybe jon and
handyman can go work for them and see if
they can make it better.

well I was going to order but after reading
the message threads I do not think I will
buy for now.
but I must say I really like the motion
sensors setting off the alarm and dialing
calls to you.
Has anyone had problems with these items?
window sensors with alarm/wall motion
detection sensor. lights flashing on/off
when activated and the dialer...
please let me know something..
thank you.

the complaints must be exceptions because
there are a whole lot of units sold and only
a handful of people that come to the forum
bashing, that's the way it goes. The typical
experience is a good one in my opinion.

I've had my share of frustration with x10
products but am starting to get the hang of
how to set them up and finaly have them
working (not all, maybe due to my own
stupidity) I went to Smarthome looking for a
forum but didn't see one. I wonder how many
complaints they would get if they had one?

WOW!!!
What the H***'s goin on here??? I've used
x10 for a few years ? (6-7) and have never
heard such bad reports. I didn't know about
the forum till today but I am concerned and
confused!?
I bought $K's of dollars of product for
these guys over the years. Just in the last
while I haven't bought anyhting. have
things gone that bad???. In the begining,
yes, lack of manuals and understanding left
me without hope as well as frustrated.
Eventually I got my motion sensors to talk
to my lights and plugs, my remotes to talk
to cameras, my fire crackers to to talk to
yard lights but not instantly. I even took
the pro corse to understand why this stuff
wasn't talking to each other. If you are
serious about learning how this stuff works
and/or how to make it work LEARN.
The line noise in the average house makes
for very hit and miss quick installs. Now I
haven't worked with web view and such, but
the other equipment has been working for
years. The odd piece quits now and then but
S*** for a few bucks buy another. wait for
big sales and buy bulk.
If your not into the learning curve- then
get someone else who is do the work for you.
$.02

Does everyone know of x10's Chapter 11
bankruptcy filed in October 2003? This
likely explains the poor customer service.
They're just trying to squeeze the last few
drops.

I wonder why those people who are
complainin aout this.
Go to another supplier or help to solve the
few problems we have if we have them!
I think the price is excellent and about
custumer service hahahaha good real good.
So you guys come to europe then you will
experience bad custumer service and see the
big price difference.
Yust for once donot try to have everything
for nothing you guys sound like dutch
people.

Wow!!!

What a bunch of wimps!!! Every things under
a $100.00 Dollars people!!! Gas just
doubled!!! Some times in life you just got
to read the manual. You can't expect to just
sit on your big butt plug things in and it
works!!! Inform your self on the X10
technology. Take the time to look at the
power line communication scheme. Learn
people!!! I bet when you first got your
personnel computer you didn't just start
programming and configuring networking
network operation centers!! People
understand that knowledge takes time. X10 is
a great product it has given me peace of
mind. Please take heed and do your homework
but please if you are going to cry like
little !@#@!$!@ go some where else!!!!
Basically BE A MAN!!!!

A Carter: It's not like we are dealing with
rocket science here. Have you any Idea how
long X10 technology has been around?

Maybe you should get better-informed before
you display such ambiguous prolixity.
