Title: Question about Vanguard
Post by: edgar on April 20, 2005, 03:51:41 PM
I just bought the Vanguard camera system
with 4 cameras and everything else that it
comes with. Now I am wondering if it would
be possible to record live video with this
camera onto my PC? If so, what do I need in
order to do this. I don't know why but
somewhere I read that this camera can only
stream through the internet but not actually
record. Thank you.

Hi Edgar,I have every X10 cam,and any of
them can be set to record to your PC's hard
drive. Check out duncansonline for a capture
card (circuit board)that plugs in a PC that
takes 4 cams (any with a video output)and
also records from motion using the cam as
the motion sensor. It puts a screen grid
over the video picture, you click on the
squares that you want to see motion.Motion
in the rest of the picture does not start
record.Hope this helps.

I'm still a X10 customer but can't get
support and sofware for my new PC laptop.
