Title: No sound with with use of extension cord for camera
Post by: p straube on May 11, 2005, 12:05:47 PM
I have an NightWatch2 camera.  the cord was
just a bit short for where it needed to be
placed so I used a telephone extension cord
with a coupler so I could get it hooked
up.  Now, the picture is fine but there is
no sound.  The sound works without the
cord.  The cord and coupler works fine if I
use it with a telephone. When using a
coupler, does that change the order of the
wires so that like a CAT5, it has to be
wired very specifically?  This is a Radio
Shack extension cord and coupler.  Any
other thoughts will be appreciated.

Phone cords most times reverse the order
from end to end. That maybe the problem.

You may also want to check the original
connector, on the off chance it uses more
than the normal 4 conductors.

Reverse, huh?  Good thought.  I'll check
that out.  Thanka a lot for pointing that
out.
