Title: Interference when using my microwave oven
Post by: g barton on May 15, 2005, 09:19:22 AM
I have purchased the following items from
x10 through the years. Camera A/V Receiver
(VR31A),Tiny Video Receiver (Video Only)
(VR36A), XCam2 Video Camera (XX11A), XCam2
WideEye Video Camera (XX13A), NightWatch
Wireless Low-Light B/W Camera (XX20A),
Transceiver Module (TM751),
Ninja Pan & Tilt Base (VK74A),
Ninja ScanPad Controller (CR14A).When we
use the microwave oven the camera picture
goes to a wierd interference to include
wavy lines. So I can say while cooking or
warming in the microwave oven our camera
system is sort of useless. I have looked
for the answer here in the forum but don't
see where anyone else has talked about it.
I don't want to switch to the wired cameras
because I have so much into the wireless. I
have the four set up around the outside of
my house and my neighbors like the extra
sense of security they provide. I just
purchased the iWitness and 3 nighttime
cameras. X10 can you give some assistance
to my problem? Can anyone? Thank you in
advance. G Barton

Microwave ovens, wireless networks and 2.4
Ghz cordless phones are known to cause such
problems. Unless the noise is being radiated
from the line cord and not through the case
there is most likely nothing that can be
done.

Brian is correct!  I had to remove my 2.4
ghz phone, it was interfearing very badly.
My wireless netowrk had to be set to
channel 8 for it to work.  My microwave
does the exact thing.  If I get a picture
like that I know someone is using it to
cook food!
