Good evening,
Some time ago I bought a complete set from
X10.com when i visited the US. I want now to
install it in house I have close to
Barcelona.
The equipment:
1 XX13A XCAM 2 wide angle
2 XX11A Scan Cam
1 VK58A XCam 2 with kit
plus the usb video capturer adapter and boom
rf receiver.
(In addition i bought motion sensors, fire
cracker, tranciever, etc)
The problem: I didnt realise at the time
about the diferent voltage 120 vs 220 (In
spain). So I have decided to buy 5 adapters
220 to 12 v to plug them in the video
receiver and the 4 wireless cameras, instead
of the original 120 V to 12 V.
Of course the problem is that I will not
have the adresable power suply. I understand
teh wheels in the power jacks are only to
control power on and off.
Am I correct?, will I be able to watch the 4
camaras at once? regardless of not having
the adresable power supply?
In addition I have some probs with the
multiview soft, it hangs every time I open
it, so effectively i cant use it, +plus it
asks me for a code

software probles.

Yes the power supplies are turned on and off
by X10 signals. You will need to control the
power as you can not run all four cameras at
the same time. The signals will all get
mixed together and you will see nothing buy
a scrambled picture. The remotes for cameras
are set up in groups of four usually and
when you turn on a camera the other three in
the group are turned off.

Thanks for the answer but then in the
multiview software you see all 4 cameras at
once
how do they do it for not having and
scrambled signal?
ie regardles of the power issue i though
one could see the 4 camaras at once
it is not true then why not, or rather how
can one see then the 4 ams with multiviewer
or the new other software out there?

I don't know. Hope someone with the software
and hardware can help you. maybe the
software controls the power supplies or
maybe each camera is on one of the 4
frequencies. I think even different
frequencies will clash or you would need 4
receivers also

it is not clear to me it has to be
something else than the power allowing the
4 cameras to be seen, since they can be
seen simultaneously, so it cant be the power
do you agree?

I don't use the cameras from X10 so I have
no idea how they get 4 in one. I have
cameras but they stay in the boxs. Hope
someone with this setup can help you. All I
saw was no more than one going at a time in
the instructions for the cameras.
