Title: someone interfering with nightwatch signal
Post by: carol on November 26, 2005, 03:39:46 PM
I installed x10 Nightwatch to protect
myself against someone who has been
harassing me.  She is a neighbor.  I
noticed yesterday afternoon as she walked
out her front door, I began getting a
series of "blips".  They vary in length and
interval depending upon time of day and
lighting conditions.  They do not prevent
my camera for working, just show up as
interference.  Is there a way I can
counteract this IR interference?  Thanks,
Carol

You think she is on to you? Is it possible
she has a laser pointer she uses on the
camera?

It is not a laser, any electronic equipment
like refrigerator or microwave will
interfere with the wireless devices like
the floodcam and all others. Good Luck with
it all. I'll try the ones with wires and
see how that works. The resolution is very
poor anyway.

Yup. Anything like a 2.4 Ghz cordless phone
or wireless network can mess the signals
also. Many messages here will show that is a
problem.

use wired cams and give up on the rf
garbage.  every excuse under the sun why rf
cams won't work.  don't sneeze, then they
won't work.  oops you farted, they won't
work.
