Title: Ninja Speed
Post by: brad on January 07, 2006, 10:30:59 AM
does anyone know a way to modify the ninja
to increase the speed?  I think it uses
stepper motors which can go faster.

Thanks

I saw the insides photo of one, but at
present can't find it. Anyway I think it is
more like a servo with a reversable motor
and a very steped down gear trian.

No stepper motors.  Just little blue DC
motors.  Really cheap.  Some parts are hot-
melt-glued together.  But it looks solid!
Makes a good solid thud when you throw it
in the trash can.  Really great paper
weight.

I didn't thin there where steppers, just a
DC motor with a feedback loop to tell it
where to go. Kind of like a servo in models.

ODD things...  back with my CM11A I used
breifly, just before CM15A came out there
was an update to the CM11A software.
for some reason I was able to soft start my
1way dimmer modules & the P/T speed was
increased at one point (posibly just for
presets) but it did pan faster for me.
this could have been from a diff voltage
comming into it. wrong PowerSupply
connected? or setup as something diff. then
a P/T in the software? I really want to
find it again :)
