I have a client that is looking for a good
and resonably priced security solution. I
have inspected the prospective area that he
is wanting watched. What I believe he needs
is 16 cameras with motion activated
recording and remote viewing via internet
and call on activation. Can X10 do this ?
Also does X10 have temperature monitor.
Since I have never used this particular
product any assistance is greatly
appriciated and a detailed explaination of
possible setups of products would be just
godly of you. Thanks in advanced

You can setup up to 16 camera on 1 house-
code. For motion activated recording, you
also need 16 motion sensors, 1 for each
camera. In order to work, you also need to
get the X10 VCR Commander II (check it out
on x10.com). There are setup tips if you
go to Support area on how to install VCR
Commander II.

YOU WILL DISAPOINTED WITH THE QUILTY OF
X10,BUT IT WILL WROK OK WITH 16 CAMERA
SETUP. BUT BETTER TO BUY A WIRED SYSTEM
W/INFERRED SO YOU SEE CLEAR SHOTS ALL THE
TIME.

And you would need 4 VCR commanders, 4 VCRs
and 4 Video or A/V recievers. Each reciever
and transciever can handle up to 4 cameras.
If you try to do any more than that, a
motion sensor in one group of four would not
turn off the cameras in a nother group and
you would get signals from multiple cameras
on your reciever. You would also be using
all four of the recievers available channel,
guaranteeing someone can tap into the
system. If all cams are outside, not a
problem. I would suggest going with a wired
system with always on cameras and an auto
switcher and/or video multiplexer for as
much of the setup as financially possible.
