Title: remote chime volume adjust
Post by: mike k on December 09, 2004, 02:06:30 PM
Does anyone know if the volume level of the
x10 remote chime can be adjusted? I would
like to turn it down as even with a homemade
insulated box I built around it,it is too
loud! I have it inside the house and I want
it to alert me and not the prowlers out in
the yard. Thanks

www.geocities.com/ido_bartana/
Site has all kinds of X10 modifications
including adding a volume control to a chime
module. Note: Voids warantee and remember
that most modules are line powered so be
carefull not to allow the power to be
exposed to the outside world.

I had the same problem with mine, I put
mine on an extension cord and laid it on
the carpet face down behind the couch,
muffled it enough so it didn't make the dog
jump into the ceiling or startle me out of
my thong.

Does anyone have a mod to adjust the tone of the chime module?  My module's "innards" don't look like the ones on this suggested web site.

I have a small light plugged into an appliance in conjunction with a chime in another room. But the light, and the CLICK of the appliance module is enough to get my attention (when I am awake).

Does anyone have an updated mod (to change tone) for the chime module?  The "geocities" procedure must be for an older version of the chime module.
