Hello everyone -
I am planning a security/alarm solution for
my summer home - something that would alert
me of the following problems:
- break-ins
- smoke/fire
- flood
Is it possible to use DS7000 for all of the
above? Can I extend it with smoke and water
sensors that would use the same console to
report problems? Or is it just a one-trick
pony? And, in that case, what would you
suggest to look at that could cope with all
of the objectives above?
Thanks in advance.

I don't think there are sensors made for
that function, but if you wires a sensor
that gives a closure on activation it most
likely can be connected to a door window
sensor.

I would imagine that the same kind of relay
could be used for water detection. If you
don't find a detector designed specifically
for detecting flooding, you might look into
modifying a bed-wetting alarm to work with
a relay and a door/window sensor. Just a
thought.

Read the thread on this forum titled "Smoke
Detector and X10" to see how to make your
own X10 smoke detector that works with the
DS7000 security system.
