Title: Protective case for DS7000
Post by: davidb on July 21, 2005, 10:46:58 AM
I'm finishing up a new home now and have
suspected that someone was entering the
house during the evening. I setup my DS7000
(using the temp power line) and put a
couple of motion sensors in the house. The
alarm went off the first night. After the
intruder had a lttle time to think about
it, he came back and smashed the DS7000
into about 15 pieces. Deadbolts and all
were locked when I got there so we
concluded that he must have a key. Anyway,
the locks have been re-keyed but I would
feel a little better if my new DS7000 could
be placed in a protected/locked case. Has
anyone done something like this?

Yes, a sturdy case would protect the unit,
but we really should be able to turn off that
wimpy siren in the DS7000, which is not loud
enough and good only for advertising where
the unit is located.

Have you taken the console apart?  Would it
be possible to wire a switch in seires with
the speakers?

DavidB, I was thinking about a case too.  I
want a wall mounted lexan case with a
locking door.
