Title: x10 Security System-Company pros/cons

Hello,
I am considering buying the bundled
security system with the ds7000 controller,
8 sensors, 3 motion detectors and the
remotes.

After reading almost all of the forum posts
I have determined that for every on person
that likes the X10 product there are about
2 that don't, for various reasons.  From
labor relations to flimsy equipment.

Could someone give me some real concrete
evidence on why I should or shouldn't use
the X10 products as my main security system?

I have a two story house and many windows.
I would be getting about 8 additional
window sensors for a total of 16.

One common Fault in the DS7000 is when you
try to install more that 3 Infrarred sensors

in those cases for some unknown reaosn on of
the I.R sensors keeps failing to communicate
effectively

If you do not use more that 3 I.R sensors it
should work fine

Another consideration should be the Maximum
distance between the Sensors and the DS7000
console ( or if there are a lot of solid
walls)
