Title: door / windows sensor turning on light module
Post by: ed on August 04, 2005, 04:03:59 AM
Has anyone had a problem with a door /
windows sensor turning on a light module.
The module is not even on the same
housecode as the ds7000 system. Any ideas ?

I've read that line noise is usualy the
result of an unsuspected turn on... or
overflow from the neighbors.

Light modules or wall switches? I have seen
wall switches turn on with noise. What type
of bulbs are you controlling? Flourescent
and Low Voltage type should not be
controlled by dimming lamp modules or wall
switches. I have seen flourescent types
retrigger on lamp and even appliance modules.
The security sensors send out codes that are
not standard ones that most X10 modules will
respond to.

I'm using a standard lamp module for an
incandecent lamp. Strange that it comes on
even with a different house code. I'm
planning to change the module to see if it
helps.

OK see if that helps. Since some modules are
more sensative. If the new one works ok; the
original may still work in another place.
