Title: Range of DS10A to outside storage building
Post by: rj on October 09, 2005, 08:43:40 PM
How many feet from the console can you take
the door/window sensors. I have a storage
building, detached, about 40' from my house.

Well...it is rated for 100' line of sight so
forty feet through at least two exterior
walls (storage building and house) is
probably going to push its limits.  Make
sure the motion detector is pointed in the
direction of the console and you may be
ok...also X10 sells an RF repeater for
around $60 that you could place inside your
home at the point where the DS10A signal
would hit the exterior of the house.  The
repeater would them pass the signal to the
location of or extra distance to the console.

 I found this site
www.solderhead.com/mod1.html
They show how to tune the remotes. I used
this on my door sensor for the shed and it
really improved.
