Say how does x10 define two movements for
the MS10A. I bought that 8 pack of motion
detectors and I’ve checked out 5 already and
only 1 even approaches what I would consider
2 movements some of them I’ve been able to
walk up to from 20 feet away and actually
remove the batteries with out the alarm
going off. Just really would like to know
what x10 has to say about this and how 2
movements are defined.

Can't say on the movements, but the sensors
are more sensative to motion across the
field than back and forth in front of it

Yep thats exactly what I discovered! But
it's not always possible to place a sensor
that way to protect a given area. I've
actually be able to come in the house and
walk directly to the unit on the vertical
and remove one of the batteries with out
tripping the alarm something in the design
or assemibly has to be wrong . I got a
friend that has a hard wired motion
dectector that's set to three motions and
after a few movements it trips just like
these should do there's definitly something
wrong here. The 1 motion works fine but is
more prone to false alarms, but thats what I
guess I'll have to set it to. Can't believe
x10 would let something like this slip by
and get into production don't they care???
Thanks

I am a frustrated customer as well.
I cannot even get my motion sensor trip even when I set to 1.
AS in previous poster, I can walk directly to it, jump it up and down: nothing happen!
But now, I have learn... it sense on the side way better eh! Let me test it.
Any expert can jump in?
Can we get the refund for the sensors?
another mislead is, in one of the add, x10 said: motion sensor need only two AA! Eh. Wrong! Four AAA is needed.

Yes side to side movement is sensed much better than directly at it. I believe this maybe in the manual. Also the sensors use a change in detected IR temperature. So some situations where there is lots of heat decreases the sensitivity.

Hi think you might have better luck with the Pro version PMS01, they seem to function much better and appear much more reliable in mode 2. X10 clams there's no difference DON'T BELIEVE THEM!! Insist on the Pro's!!!

Hey Tom
What do you mean by "how 2 movements are defined." ?
