Title: Door/Window Sensor
Post by: americo on January 17, 2006, 02:46:04 PM
Hi all
I wish to know if it's possible to use 2
magnetic contacts attached to the same
Door/Windows Sensor.
It's because I have windows in my house that
can be opened in 2 different ways, and I'm
trying to avoid buying 2 door/window sensor
for each window.
Tks

yes it is possible. The instructions show
how to do this. You just need to buy a
contact. I plan to buy a bag of concealed
contacts to install in the the door jams on
e-bay soon. It will make for a cleaner more
professional install

Yes the instructions sow how to do it. Just
have all the switches closed when not
tripped.

It is easy.  I have 21 doors and windows on
the first floor, and only 16 zones.  So,
I've combined several 3 window sets.  Just
need to put the magnets in series.

I did end up replacing all my magnets.  I
was able to pickup a bunch of these:

cts/sensor/co/su/19192.html

They are much smaller than the stock.
Disadvantage is that they don't have the
screw connects, but the size is worth it
IMHO.

Will probable off load the bulk of them on
ebay later.  I could go $1.50 a pc if
anybody is interested.  And, I'll ship em
cheap in a padded envelope.
