Title: x10 dial up control not functioning
Post by: julia on November 05, 2005, 03:48:30 PM
I have a TR16A touch tone controller which
used to function fine.  However, we didn't
need its functionality over the summer, so
we haven't used the dial up capability in
months.  Now, when we call, we hear the 3
beeps, but when we enter the appropriate
code to turn on/off the device, we do not
hear the confirmatory beeps and the on/off
command is not executed.  We can turn
on/off directly on the keypad of the
device, so it is clearly hooked up
correctly to the equipment we are trying to
control.  Any ideas?

Good Evening,

The tone Decoder section has failed.  It could simply be because of oscillator drift to failed chips.  I have never opened one of these up but you probably need a scope and a frequency counter to repair it or maybe just a lot of luck.

Good Luck
