Title: AHP Hard ware module definitions
Post by: donald mcmow on January 25, 2005, 06:23:18 PM
I would like to see modifications done to
the AHP software module definitions that
indicate whether the hardware module
operates with more than ONE address code.
ie: some motion sensors operate on 1
address for the motion sensing and the next
address for dusk/dawn sensing. Or the
FloodCam module - One address to operate
the camera and another to operate the flood
lights. This would also possibly help
people with problems dealing with events
happening that SEEM OUT OF THE ORDINARY -
not realizing that a hardware module is
using more than one address. I would also
like to see X10 put in more modules even if
it is for other companies products as those
companies would rather promote their own
products rather than support another
companies product. I realize that X10 is
very much guilty of this practice as well!

If X10 doesn't want to put the work into
supporting modules by other manufacturers,
X10 should at least make the information on
how to add support for other modules to the
software available.  So far X10 has not
done this to my knowledge.

BTW, if you are wondering why X10 supports
Leviton modules, it is because apparently
X10 was contracted to design and build all
of them.
