Title: Trigger macro on 'all lights on' ?
Post by: raym on April 22, 2005, 10:28:31 AM
Hi,

I have two external x10 flood lights with
built in motion detectors. I also have
an 'eagle eye' motion detector.

All detectors are assigned different numbers
on housecode 'A'.

Occasionally, one of the detectors 'burps'
and a 'all lights on' command is received
instead of a 'unit on' command. I realize
that this is life in the world of RF links.

What I would like to be able to do is
trigger a macro on the 'all units on'
command so that I can just turn off un-
needed lights in the event of a false
trigger.

I have the 'smart macro' plug in but it does
not appear to have this ability.

Thanks,

Ken

Ken:  Great suggestion!  I would like to
take it a step further and allow improved
customization on the triggering of macros.
It would be nice if a macro could be
triggered by any command you want (either
powerline or RF).  This command could be an
address, function or address-function
combination (ie “A1,” “A-ON,” or “A1 A-
ON”).  Macros should also respond to
grouped commands (ie. “A1 A2 A-ON” should
trigger macro A1-ON).

It would also be nice if a macro could be
triggered by either more than one command
or not have a trigger command.  Macros
should also be able to call other macros
without having to send the Macro Address.
