Title: Sales and Marketing Material
Post by: gb on August 22, 2005, 09:46:25 PM
I just signed up for the contractor program.
The ad stated that there was sales and
marketing support material. I have not been
able to find it. Does anyone know where it
is or if it exist?

If you go to the X10 newsletter link again
http://www.x10.com/products/newsletter.htm
there is a new Home Automation flyer for
contractors like yourself. If you click on
the ad under the flyer link, it will take
you to the special ActiveHome Pro kit at a
special price - order one at this amazing
price or a few of them and you will get your
15% discount right off the top! These flyers
are great to pass out and use at customer
appointments, new subdivisions and or
construction, or fold them and mail them to
your customer list.
If there is a different flyer that you need,
please let me know and we'll make it. We are
here to support your business!

My ex did something to my computer so that
when I initially set up my PC Vanguard
copy  to copy onto my PC, I found I
couldn't get onto the internet.  It seems
like its trying to come on but is somehow
circumvented from doing so?  Anybody know
why and how to fix it?

Kelly,

Is there a way to get some flyers with
Security Cameras, Light Controls, Motion
Detectors, etc, WITHOUT specifying the price?
I am looking for something generic that we
can use, something that would excite people
and give them the impulse to call us (as
opposed to buying directly from your
website). You'll still get the business (from
us), but we'll have control over the customer.
Also, is there a way to use the videos you
have in a presentation? If so, can you have
them redone without the price?

Thanks,

JTA.

Yes. The home automation and home security
flyers do not have pricing on them. Tell me,
how many Security Cameras, Light Controls,
and Motion  Detectors would you need at a
time? Packs of 10 or 20? Or a complete
system with only 1 of each necessary
component?

Our flyers create a lifestyle solution that
you can target. They have an imprint area
for your business contact information.

Get FREE downloadable videos at
http://www.x10.com/activehomepro/videos/video
_kit.html
Just scroll down halfway and you will see
download instructions and a choice of
viewers and speeds. You can put this file
into your presentation with ease.

I am working on developing different
packages, from "Starter", "Basic",
"Advanced", "Ultimate", "Ultimate Plus", and
"Xtreme". In addition, I want to target
different segments separately as well (such
as security cameras, for instance), where I
can define a 'base' package (something like 1
of each), upgradeable to as many as the
customer needs.
Thanks for the info - I will go check it out.

JTA.

I would love to help you develop flyers for
the Advanced, Ultimate, Ultimate Plus, and
Extreme packages. Also, it sounds like we
are already on track for your segment
specific base packages as we are currently
in the process of developing these flyers.

And THANK YOU! It is feedback such as this
that will make our program the best out
there! Please be sure to check out my "best
resource" thread.

My partners and I are primarily new
construction electricial contractors and we
have decided to enter the home automation
sector. I've known of your products for
many years and have only thought of using
them in my own homes. Our interests lie in
the remotes, pc-controls, flush-mounted
wall switches and receptacles, motion
detectors, and security - no plug-ins
because we want the finished product to be
rather unassuming. We're not very clear on
the types of transceivers or base stations
we will need to control theses devices and
could use a little of your help for better
direction.

Carl,
Thank you for your interest in X10 products!
This answer from our dedicated sales team:
The main device that would be used to
control those items would be our new
ActiveHome PRO interface. It has a
transceiver built into it, so you can either
program this interface with our software to
run those items OR use the remotes to
control the modules/switches through this
interface. If you do not desire the
software/interface option, the Transceiver
Module (TM751) would be used with the
remotes to control your modules/switches.

I just read the particulars on the TM751
and see that it must be PLUGGED IN to an
existing receptacle. I really don't want to
clutter up a brand new house ... do you
have something that can be installed to
replace it??? If not, the only option left
is to use the ActiveHome PRO interface, but
that will require a computer (the houses
are not yet occupied...)

customers do not need a computer for X10
ActiveHome Pro: if you have a laptop, you
can plug in the CM15A, set up the software,
test it, and then either keep it on your
laptop or install the software on their
computer when they move in and/or want to
make changes.

If you don't have a laptop and this is new
construction: the house may have a
networking closet on the first floor; which
would be a good option if cosmetics are a
concern. Then after move-in, they can move
the TM751 behind a couch that is in close
proximity to entry (if they use a keychain
remote, it would be in close range).
