Title: XC22A Camera and VK74A (Ninja). 2 questions.
Post by: maynardw on April 17, 2006, 06:06:25 PM
I recently  replaced a X22A  camera and VK74A Ninja, as the picture had darkened quite abit since being installed . The XC22A and VK74A  were less than 2 years old,  been  painted white (voiding any warranties), turned upside down, and were underneath a shadowed roof overhang.

1. What causes a dark picture on a XC22A?
2. How long can a VK74A run normally turned upside down ?

 ???

not sure why picture is dark, it is a low light cam. I personally use the wide eyes for bright picture and clarity.

My VK74s are upside down and running for a couple years NPs.

If the camera was exposed to any SERIOUSLY bright light, it could have damaged the CMOS chip. Or, you may have somekind of dirt inside the unit. Take it apart and see if you see anything and, if so, clean witha cotton swab and alcohol.
