the battery life in the control console only lasts a few weeks at best.
I'm spending enough on 9 volt batteries to supscribe to a alarm service.
do I need to get this unit replaced? I have only had the system about 6 months.

Does not sound right. Battery is just to back up settings if the AC Power is lost.

should I send it in or ask for a replacement?

Since I am not with X10. I am not sure which choice is the best.

. - When you unplug your DS7000, does the GREEN AC POWER LED turn OFF?
. - You don't happen to have your DS7000 plugged into a SWITCHED OUTLET that someone is turning off?
. - When you trip your DS7000, does the built-in Siren sound LOUDLY? (I'm not even sure if it will sound on just the 9V battery...)
